Limit our
environmental impact

Our commitment

Being aware of our environmental impact to better reduce it

We aim to limit our environmental impact by accurately tracking our carbon footprint and implementing a low-carbon approach as well as an action plan to reduce our emissions.

Action areas

  1. Manage our carbon footprint

We are aware that it is crucial to integrate climate change into our governance, strategy, risk management and operations in order to appropriately manage the physical and transition risks that could affect our Group. In line with our desire to be a responsible player, we are committed to limiting our own environmental impact and ensuring that our carbon footprint is under control. We carry out regular Group-wide carbon footprint calculations to identify areas where we can reduce our emissions. This allows us to gain a more comprehensive understanding of our carbon footprint as a bank and to build and follow a suitable action plan.

  2. Follow our internal low-carbon approach

The members of our internal Low-Carbon Committee and their teams implement actions to reduce the Group’s carbon footprint around 5 main axes: an ever-more responsible and low-carbon procurement policy (our procurement team evaluates our strategic suppliers via a dedicated platform and works to sourcing more socially responsible partners), low-carbon mobility for business travels and commuting (incentives are implemented to encourage the use of soft mobility means for commuting, and to ensure that most business travels are made by train), enhancing our responsible digital technology approach (ensuring that our IT equipment is energy efficient, and, once it becomes out of date, fully reused or recycled by specialized companies), optimized use of buildings (through energy and waste management as well as well-considered building design and fit-out aiming for sustainability labels) and a communication and awareness-raising system on the climate issue.

  3. Train and raise awareness on the climate issue

Understanding environmental issues is a prerequisite to successfully progress in the professional world of today and tomorrow as sustainability challenges are reflected in all of our Group’ activities. We provide our teams with educative tools to learn and upskill about the topic, such as the Climate School.

We have launched the Climate School to provide our teams with educational content, to learn and be better equipped to understand the core transformation of our activities and the ones of our clients.
